Holy Land 2000 - A Look Back

Garden of Gethsemane

In February, 2000, twenty members of the Williston-West congregation, led by our pastor, the Rev. Eric Kelley, made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. They toured Palestine, Israel and Jordan. It was a two week trip and most members of the group said they slept as little as possible so they would not miss a thing. Eric took a three month sabattical in the Middle East in early 1999 and was very familiar with the people and the locales. This allowed him to lead the journey to places not often on the tourist map. This website cannot show you everything the group saw; in fact they may say it is only a fraction of the incredible sites. But it can give you a 'flavor' of the land and, perhaps, interest you enough to look at your journey.

Members of Williston-West have been making this pilgrimage for the last six years. To date, more than fifty members of our congregation had been to the Middle East. Some have made the trip more than once. We are committed to bringing the gospel to life within our community.

Please be patient as these pages load. I wanted to preserve the quality of the photographs and therefore did not 'shrink' them too much.
There are many photos and they have been divided smaller groups. You may click on a particular page or you can start at the beginning (page 1) and work your way through. Soon, you will also be able to enjoy some 'first hand' accounts of the trip written by some of the sojourners. So, sit back, make yourself comfortable, put on your touring jacket and have a great trip.
